This for me this is an excellent short film. It's not two hours long with a soundtrack by the in bands, nor is showing kids doing drugs or have ropey actors trying to be 'hard'. This in my view is the most accurate insight into Football Casual culture I've seen yet - and it's only 15 minutes long. It's excellent because it shows no matter how hard or big some people think they are, at some point the perception of glory will be replaced by the reality of fear.
Starring Richard Driscoll, former EastEnders vicar and Goodbye Charlie Bright (2001) cast member, this film made a genuine and valiant attempt to evoke the true nature and spirit of what being a Football Casual is all about.
The climactic fight scene is regarded as one of the best representations of a real meet ever captured on film. The screenplay was written by self-proclaimed former Hooligan and now successful author Dougie Brimson. Whatever FootballCasual.com thinks of Brimson personally, we have to give him credit for this short film. It was this that led to his involvment in Green Street (2005) - but we all have our bad days at the office.
In terms of brands in this great short film, many of the usual suspects were on show. A heavy steer towards Lacoste and Stone Island but a good account none the less. A must have in the DVD collection for any serious Football Casual culture enthusiast.
It also gave birth to the immortal phrase; "It's not what you wear - it's how you wear it!"
