Green Street
Green StreetAlthough I have taken an editorial decision to review films on this site purely from a Football Casual fashion perspective, I can't but help make some comments on this particular film.

The plot - a disaster. The dialogue - a disaster. Elijah Wood as a hooligan - a disaster. Charlie Hunman's accent - a disaster. This film was backed with millions of dollars of American money and produced a film that would have been better marketed as a parody it was that cringe-worthy.

The fight scenes were simply a shambles. The tie-in with America to make it saleable stateside completely crushed any crumbs of credibility it could have ever achieved. Don't even get me on the crew names. All round disaster.

However in fairness, some of the brands stood up as identi kit hooligan brands. By rights this should have been a disaster too. Every other aspect of the film was a disgrace, so how did this happen? The wardrobe department must have been the only department working on the film paying attention. It was written and directed by a woman. Enough said.

Since publishing this review, Dougie Brimson who was credited as a co-writer on this film, has contacted FootballCasual.com to say that he left halfway through production as he wasn't happy with where the film was going. In the interests of fairness we felt it was only right to print that on this review. However, we're sure he didn't leave halfway through whilst waiting to cash in his cheque. There is a sequel. Don't bother.
